Golf Biomechanics
Without proper rotation from the spine you will never reach your peak potential on the course.
Many golfers get injured and play injured from poor mechanics. As you walk into any golf town store and observe the dozens of different drivers advertising increased distance on your drive. The truth is if you are limited in spinal rotation and you have the genetics of a field mouse no biggest Bertha or Taylor 455 club is going to help your distance. Your better off going to Play it again sports and buying a used Ben Hogan driver from the 1950’s.
Micheal's Suggestion
Spend your money on conditioning and good lessons. When I took lessons from Don Wilson the owner and creator of Virtually Perfect Golf. I was amazed at the constant improvements in my game from week to week. Don in turn trained with me in the off season and was boasting of increased drives due to strength and proper length tension relationships his body had acquired from training. One saying Don had made which remained glued to my brain was “$1000.00 dollar clubs and a five dollar swing”.
The goal of the golf biomechanic is to access the client from head to toe. The client will learn to understand:
• How tight muscles affect the swing and what to do about them.
• Why warming up before playing can improve your round.
• The proper way to train for improved power, strength and flexibility.
• Why any breakdown in flexibility, stability, and strength, can
lead to injury.
