Posture Correction
If a client thinks that 2-4 hours of corrective exercise is going to maintain good posture they are living in denial.
Long before posture became a mainstream in sports, rehabilitation, and general fitness programs, pioneers such as Francis Matthias Alexander, Charles Bell, Romberg, Dr Baron, and Henry Otis Kendal knew the importance of posture to the modern biped.
The first school of posturology was founded in Berlin by Vierordt in
1890.
One of the foremost people on the research and advancement of posturology
is Dr Bernard Bricot. Using some very elaborate field tests clinical posturology
can determine energy leaks and breakdowns within the body.
In an age where the number one job in the world is the desk job. People are commuting longer distances in cars and other forms of transport, and then parking your body in front of the boob tube several hours before turning in and doing it all over again the next day. Well it’s no wonder people are looking more like our early ancestors.
Here at the studio it is not uncommon to hear at one time or another trainer giving the talk about the importance of good postural habits during the day. If a client thinks that 2-4 hours of corrective exercise is going to maintain good posture they are living in denial. It is a second to second practice which must be implemented with everything you do. Further more the body is incapable of correcting itself on its own. Having made that statement, the body is capable of functioning in and out of a balanced state.
